Already announced on the huge line up for Splendour in the Grass, Death Cab For Cutie have today unveiled details of a wider Australian tour for July and August! It's been a few years since the Washington heatstring pullers were in the country in a headline capacity but with their new album Kintsugi already doing good things in this part of the world, it'd be criminal for them to come to Australia for a trip that'd only see them do the festival and one or two sideshows.
The band will be performing as a five piece line up, featuring new tour members in Dave Depper (Menomena, Corin Tucker) and Zac Rae (Fiona Apple, Lana Del Rey) on additional guitar and keyboard duties. The tour will be Death Cab's first time here without founding member Chris Walla but with rave reviews coming with their recent live shows, we've got no doubt that essence of the Death Cab for Cutie live show hasn't been lost.
Tickets for the tour are on sale now, except for their gig at the Sydney Opera House. Sydney Opera House tickets are on sale from 10am, May 14th.
